Anti-Racists Force EDL Climb-Down in Manchester's Gay Village
Manchester Unite Against Fascism moved quickly when the anti-Muslim English Defence League (EDL) said they were going to come to the Gay Village area in the city centre. About 25 campaigners from UAF and LGBT groups turned out to block the EDL - who cancelled their 'visit' at the last minute.
Two EDL racists who did turn up were forced to retreat. The EDL are faking concern for LGBT people's rights, seeking to blame Muslims for homophobia and prejudice - they must be challenged any time they try to peddle this lie.
