BNP leader Nick Griffin sneaked in as your north west England representative in the European Parliament by scraping up just 8% of the vote in the 2009 Euro elections. Under the Euro-elections proportional representation system, he would retain the seat with a similar fraction of the votes in the 2014 elections. That's why we need to start now in building the broadest possible coalition of trade union, community groups and anti-racists to work to Get Griffin Out.

Last Saturday (30th), Gtr Mcr UAF supporters helped to track down the BNP's Annual Conference in Liverpool and joined a lively protest at the venue (Cricketer's Arms in Wavertree, since you ask). The Nazi gathering showed all the signs of the political and financial crisis currently gripping the organisation - just about 50 delegates, all quite old, mostly well-off, small-business types. But the BNP could recover - let's make the most of the BNP's problems by focussing on getting Griffin out of the European Parliament.
EDL In Manchester..?
It's almost certain the racist-fascist, anti-Muslim English Defence League (EDL) will attempt to march in central Manchester in the next few weeks or months. We must respond rapidly when this is announced; we can prepare now by building UAF across Gtr Mcr, in trade unions and community groups.
